I tried the shrimp first and it was so good I came back just 30 minutes later for the red snapper — and wow, both were absolutely delicious. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. On top of that, the person working there was kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Amazing food and great service — I’ll definitely be back again!
We're always in search of the best fish & chips on our travels. This was outstanding! Easy off/on the freeway on our way home from Whistler. The lightly battered fish was delicious. Almost a tempura-type coating which complimented the cod. Crisp, tasty fries and wonderful flavorful and thick chowder. The atmosphere is delightful and Dale (owner) was lovely to chat with. This is a gem! Support small business and you'll be rewarded with a five star experience!
Cozy space and kind hosts, felt right at home! You order and pay first, then pick up your food at the counter. First time there and asked for recommendations, and they suggested based on fishiness tolerance and popularity. We ultimately went with red snapper. It was a good price for a generous portion! Nice crispy breading and great flakes, and tasty tartar sauce along with a large slice of lemon. Definitely recommend and would come again to try other things on the menu. :)
I love this little place. I came with my mom today as she was craving fish and chips. We both got a two piece cod and chips. It was so good! The batter was light and the pieces were nice and thick! With my canned drink, and my mom's bottle of iced tea the total was about 60 bucks. Honestly, I'm not unhappy. These little family shops are where you get quality. It's not that much more than the standard restaurant nowadays. I will say the only thing that was better than the food was the staff. The gentleman serving us (whom I believe is the owner) was chatting with my mom about old fish chip places, and she was so happy to be chatting with someone about the old spots and things. This was such a lovely and quaint shop, and I'll definitely be back!
The cod, halibut and the coconut shrimp is just amazing. A bit pricey, atmosphere is deceiving, but the fish and chips is the best around and worth every penny.
They definitely have one of the best clam chowders at a restaurant and I make my own version at home on occasion. I find most clam chowder to be watered down, floury or lacking ingredients when dining out. However, not the case here! It was a bit pricey at 10 a bowl. However, it was worth the splurge. We also ordered halibut fish and chips and a shrimp sampler. Everything was fried to perfection. I only wish they also had fried oysters on their menu and I would have ordered that as well. It is worth a visit without having to drive all the way to White Rock for fish and chips if you are in the area. There is ample free parking on the plaza. I do not need to fight crowds to get a seat. Only thing missing is an ocean view, but they have a fake ocean on their wall.
Absolutely amazing fish and chips made by the owner! I’ve been around town eating and trying most of the fish and chip joint, but none of them compare to this place! Tried the 12oz basa filet for 15.6 before tax and it was huuge, fresh and the crispy skin is delicious. The owner was super nice and even fried a bit of red snapper for me to try! Family ran! Highly recommend ya’ll to try! The fish is way bigger, but I ate it all haha Thanks!
The vibe of the restaurant is rustic and calm and laid back and takes you back to the good old days. The foood though oh my god it’s out of this world delicious I couldn’t even take a picture of it because it looked so good but I emptied my portion lightning fast so overall 11/10 place, and the owner Dale is an amazing guy every sauce in here is home made by him go ahead and try it out yourselves for all the sea food lovers
